The Durdins purchased DA Joshah as a 3 year old from Dolorosa Arabians. Two months after his purchase -- and with only three months of training under saddle -- he earned a U.S National Top Ten in the Arabian Hunter Pleasure Snaffle Bit Futurity. After this stunning show ring debut Joshah came home to Texas. The following January Joshah sustained a serious injury to his right foreleg and was stall-bound for over six weeks. He made a full recovery and with Granger Durdin in the saddle went on to win numerous blue ribbons in Hunter Pleasure, AAOTR, Open and Junior Horse classes. Joshah had a couple of nicknames that fit him well. “Baby Shah” paid homage to his sunny disposition -- like that of a smiling child who always wants to sit in your lap. He was also known as “Band-Aid Joey” because he would always nick or scrap himself just before an important show. It seemed like we were constantly bandaging him. Joshah’s great personality is missed at the barn. It's just not the same without him wanting to put his head in your lap or over your shoulder. Rest in greener pastures and run with the wind!
